The grand yet humble 3-star Cumberland Hotel is widely rated as one of the best hotels in Bournemouth in terms of room space, facilities and cleanliness as well as politeness and helpfulness of its staff.
The Cumberland Hotel is a unique and quirky 107 bedroom hotel perched in a prime location on Bournemouth’s East Cliff, overlooking the golden sandy beaches and the blue channel seas off the south coast. The hotel is one of the most best-rated hotels in the town, with Tripadvisor reviewers ranking it as one of the top 10 hotels of any star rating in the whole area.
It is easy to see why it is so popular amongst guests as the friendly staff, superb cuisine and magnificent art deco interior are all of the highest quality. The on-site outdoor swimming pool and lido deck are inspired by the sun-kissed palms of Miami, meaning in the summer months you can rest on their loungers whilst sipping an expertly-made cocktail and easing your stresses away.
The hotel is one of a number of hotels on the Oceana complex, meaning that whilst staying at the Cumberland you can even use the wide range of facilities in its sister hotels, which include a luxurious spa, indoor leisure facility, sauna and a mini-gym. To make a reservation at the Cumberland you should phone Oceana Hotel’s central sales desk on their helpline 01202 298 350 or if you have already booked your stay and you would like to make an enquiry you should call their reception directly on the hotel’s phone number 01202 290 722. The most notable eatery at the hotel is the Ventana Grand Café which has been awarded the prestigious double AA rosette in recognition of the beautifully cooked & locally sourced food that they serve, as well as the personable service and elegant surroundings. You can also take afternoon tea in this brasserie, with freshly-made scones and rich Dorset clotted cream. The Ventana also has an excellently-stocked bar and wine cellar, meaning you will have the perfect accompaniment to your meal. The Mirabelle Restaurant is the main dining area for guests and also serves a range of delicious meals with more of a home-cooked style, with comforting options such as honey-glazed pork loin and rich gravy.
