Chewing gum illegal in Singapore
Posted in Before I leave the UK on 05/11/2009 02:50 pm by adminYesterday a friend informed me that Chewing Gum cannot be bought in Singapore. Apparently, it was banned 12 years ago after someone stuck a wad of chewing gum in a commuter train causing severe delays.
However, it is possible to get it for therapeutic value although I believe you need to be referred by a doctor! Thats a lot of effort just to get gum.
As of yet there is no black market trade in Singapore of chewing gum. Maybe I’ve found a niche point for business after I complete my degree?
The good news is travellers are allowed to bring in their own supply. Looks like I’ll be stocking up in Malaysia before I cross the border.

haha…. stocking up, that’s what the locals do as well when they hop over for a visit.
